Sunday August 9th 2020

Blessed Virgin Mary

Please will you email Julie with any prayer requests so they can be included in our intercessions.

Here are the words of the Taize chants to join in with

VENI SANCTE SPIRITUS (sung over and over – Come Holy Spirit)

Here is the translation of the verses that are sung in different languages from across the world.

Come, Holy Spirit, from heaven shine forth with your glorious light.
Veni Sancte Spiritus

Come, Father of the poor, come,
generous Spirit, come, light of our hearts.
Veni Sancte Spiritus

Come from the four winds, O Spirit,
come breath of God; disperse the shadows over us, renew and
strengthen your people.
Veni Sancte Spiritus

Most kindly warming light!
Enter the inmost depths of our hearts, for we are faithful to you.
Without your presence we have nothing worthy, nothing pure.
Veni Sancte Spiritus

You are only comforter, Peace of the soul.
In the heat you shade us; in our labour you refresh us,
and in trouble you are our strength.
Veni Sancte Spiritus

On all who put their trust in you and receive you in faith,
shower all your gifts.
Grant that they may grow in you and persevere to the end.
Give them lasting joy!

Psalm 46 from verse 10 to say all together
Hear, O daughter; consider and incline your ear: forget your own people and your father’s house.
So shall the king have pleasure in your beauty; he is your lord, so do him honour.
The people of Tyre shall bring you gifts; the richest of the people shall seek your favour
The king’s daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is embroidered cloth of gold.
She shall be brought to the king in raiment of needlework; after her the virgins that are her companions.
With joy and gladness shall they be brought; and enter into the palace of the king.
Instead of your fathers you shall have sons; whom you shall make princes over all the land.
“I will make your name to be remembered through all generations; therefore shall the peoples praise you for ever and ever”.

Taize Chant at the end

Nada te turbe, nada te espante
Quien a Dios tiene, nada le falta
Nada te turbe, nada te espante
Solo Dios basta

(translation Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten, those who seek God shall never go wanting. Nothing can trouble, nothing can trouble. God alone fills us)

There is also a collection point in the porch of Kingsland Church.
